Tips to Avoid Pre Travel Anxiety

Travelling comes with idea of adventure, fun, discovering different things like food, culture, trends, places and people. It is quite exciting but there are many people, who develop a sense of nervousness, even stress of flying can be a deterrent that keeps them from travelling. Anxiety during travelling can affect someone in different but small ways like difficulty in sleeping, upset stomach, puking etc. Even drastically debilitate the ability to book a flight. However, focus on pre travel planning and learn some helpful calming techniques can help to ease anxiety & fidgetiness. Here some tips are listed below to let you overcome or control these issues. Prepare yourself mentally

Firstly you need to recognize the triggers like when fear of flying will actually strike. Do you feel stressful and have lack of control on it? Everything is fine till the flight takes off. Once you recognize the reasons behind travel jitters it’ll be helpful for you to find the solutions. Before travel, practice deep breathing technique that will help you to keep calm. You can even practice abdominal exercise in morning time when you wake up. You should learn to meditate, because it brings stability in mind and soul and keep you calm. This way you’ll acknowledge anxiety and move from it fast. Meditation lets you leave in the present without worrying.

Physical preparation

Plan well before travelling, prepare a checklist of essentials and make a check on it. So you’ll not forget anything that you may need during trip. Check list may contain purse, charger, camera, passport, documents, tickets, clothes, medication, foreign currency, etc. These things vary on the duration and type of trip. Keep a bag in which you have puzzles to solve, books to read to get you distracted. If you have early flight then set an alarm and tries to reach early. Follow your regular routines after waking up. Drink a cup of coffee/ tea, clean your bed, do simple stretching, avoid too much consumption of caffeine as it enhance anxiety. Use rest room, talk to people, practice calmness, sit with a relaxed mind, read books, listen music and engage yourself to divert your mind.
