Surprise Your Guests With Home Made Tandoori Chicken Masala!

Most of the delicious delicacies in chicken can be enjoyed in the fine dining restaurants. But what if you could bring the restaurant home? This article will help you with the recipe of chicken tandoori masala which can be prepared in your kitchen.

Say ‘NO’ to restaurants, when you can prepare the authentic chicken dishes at home! How about chicken tandoori masala this time? Believe it or not: it will taste better than the one in the restaurant! Let’s start with the ingredients, at first:

For gravy

  • Finely chopped onions
  • Finely chopped tomatoes
  • Ginger garlic paste
  • Cumin seeds
  • Green chilies
  • Fresh coriander
  • Ginger
  • For tandoori chicken
  • Chicken cut into medium pieces
  • Curd
  • Ginger garlic paste
  • Dry Spices: garam masala, chicken tandoori masala, salt, red chili powder, mango powder, turmeric powder
  • Lemon

Recipe:

Step1: Chicken Marinate

Take a big bowl to prepare the mixture to marinate the chicken. Add all the dry spices along with clean chicken pieces. Add some lemon juice and curd. Mix the masala well with the chicken and keep marinate aside for a while. If you want, you can refrigerate the chicken marinate overnight for better taste.

Step2: Gravy

Heat oil/ghee in the pan and add cumin seeds along with chopped green chilies and ginger garlic paste. When the raw smell of the paste is gone, you can add finely chopped onions in the pan. Once the onion turns golden, you can add tomatoes in the gravy with the dry spices. Make sure that you do not add too much of spices as some proportion of the same is added in the marinated chicken.

Step3: fry tandoori chicken

Now, take out the chicken from the refrigerator. Take a small pan and heat for some time. At this point, you need to fry tandoori chicken. However, many people prefer tandoor, as in barbeque to cook the tandoori chicken. But if you do not have a barbeque set, you can just fry the chicken in the pan. Close the lid after you add the chicken in the pan and let it cook on the low flame. Flip it in between so that chicken is cooked from every side.

Step4: Mix it up!

Once the tandoori chicken is cooked properly and the gravy is fine and thick, you must add the chicken in the gravy. Let it cook for at least 10 minutes for the masalas to blend properly. Once it is nicely cooked, you can open the lid and garnish the gravy with fresh coriander and ginger cut in Julian.
