Check soil before you prep

You should check whether the soil is sticky or whole dry because both kind of soil don’t work for gardening. Before loosening the soil, take a hand full of soil and check that it can be turned easily with help of spade.

Improve garden soil

Do soil loosening and add organic compost, essential fertilizers, farming friendly insects like earthworms to improve quality of soil.

Eliminate weeds

Before planting, let the garden free from weeds so later you’ll less likely to struggle with weeds in the growing season. And it is really necessary when you are looking to establish a new garden. You can rent a sod cutter to remove weed and keep in mind to at least excavated 2 inch below the soil.

Add compost

Compost is affectionately called black gold for gardeners. It is rich in nutrients and offers valuable nutrients & minerals to the plants. It also improves soil structure by providing water & oxygen to reach to the plant roots. You should spread 2 to 3 inch thick layer of compost in the garden.

Group together

Group all the plants together with similar requirements, so you can evenly supply watering and essential fertilizers as well.

Label plants

It is a good way to keep your garden organized and you’ll remember all plant’s names as well.
