Why do you want a pet?

Just because you saw a cute puppy or kitten and bring them home, after spending 1 or 2 days, you realized that only cuteness doesn't work, pet care involves high responsibilities. Adopting a pet just because your kids have been pinning you, then remember pets may be live with you 10 to 20 years.

Time

Do you have time for your pet? Your pet needs a two-time walk in a day at least, daily exercise, food according to different stages of life and water, routine medical check-up, vaccination and more. The owner may not realize how much time they need. The most common domestic pets like cat and dogs require time, and they need a companion for the lifetime.

Can you afford a pet?

Pet ownership can cost you much, and it includes pet care, food, toys, grooming, Licenses, training classes, veterinary care, neutering and spaying, medicine & vaccination add up quickly. If the pet gets injured and ill, they can have significant costs.

Are you ready for immediate problems, a pet can cause?

Unexpected medical emergencies, car accidents, scratches and injuries from furniture which aren't house trained, etc. can occur anytime. Being a pet owner, you should be ready for such emergencies.

Your society allow having pets?

Many societies, rental communities, and neighbors restrict to have pets. Make it sure before bringing your pet home.

Suitable living arrangements

Are your living arrangements suitable for your pet? If not, then you need to search before bringing your pet home. Small dogs like terriers are very active, they need regular exercise to keep them calm, and on the other side, large dogs will like to stay on their couch.

Vacation time

It is not easy always to travel with them together. When you are out on vacation, then you need faithful friends, neighbors or money for boarding & kennel services.

Suitable time

If your kids are mature and above the age of 6, then they can handle your pet, and it is the best time for having a pet. If you are a student or full-time job person, then you should not keep any pet.

You need to care your pet for their entire life. If you are mentally and financially prepared, then you can bring your pet home.
