How to develop your inter-personal skills

With the advancements in technology, natural talent and excellence are the keystones on which depend the prosperity of an individual. Anything less than the excellent may prove fatal for both the organization and competence of its employees. To keep a pace with the increasing shift towards technology, there are will be no choice left than to replace all the workers with the machines. Since the growth in the population is far beyond the growth in career prospects, we either have to manage a meagre income or develop exceptional skills that no one can out-measure us. In a typical corporate environment, we tend to become all the more ambitious then we actually are due to the obvious competition posed by our co-workers. It also brings a positive influence in our lives as we give up our old ways and try fit in the organization. This influence also equips you with the requisite skills that are needed in the present times which otherwise than were difficult to grasp. We belong to the diverse backgrounds and remain ignorant about the skills required in the corporates. Peer pressure or Peer influence as I choose to address it, here plays a very constructive role in building our brand value as a person.

These co-workers build a very strong emotional bond with each other beyond their professional position. If peer pressure taken very positively can develop into your emotional strength. They not only help you professionally but can also the people you can bank upon in the time of trouble. At this juncture, one needs to develop his/her interpersonal skills at a level where everybody enjoys your company. You can be that one person in your organization who is at peace with all the co-workers in such a way that they do not eye your success, rather help and encourage you to be better. In order to thrive in this cut-throat competition, you must be flexible enough to learn everything from everyone. This leaves an indelible mark on the people. You should be a person brimming with positivity that people are naturally drawn towards you for any responsibility. Also while to develop an emotional bond with your colleagues, you should also be able to segregate it with your professional duties keeping your emotions under a control. Moreover, one should be approachable so that your subordinates do not feel distant. A warm-hearted, active listener and a positive person is always liked by all. I am not asking you to be a people pleaser, rather you should never ever compromise your integrity. To sum up the whole thing, one should “lead without a title” as taught by Robin Sharma.
