Expert tips to freshen up your home

The thing that can help your house look fresh, new, and yours is its interior. When you decorate your house, you add your personality to it. Thus, creating a home that comforts you and keeps you happy.

As we move into the summer and rainy season, it is the perfect time to give a fresh look to your home. You don’t have to buy big furniture or add lots of frames or do-over the paint to make your house look fresh and its ambiance neat. A little cleaning, a little change of things, and small interior changes will do the trick.

Here are some things that can help you make your home look fresh and cozy.

1. Do intense cleaning

We all keep our house clean as no one likes specks of dust to accumulate. But when you deep clean, you renew the home and make it livelier. Here are some ideas:

Have two doormats. One inside the house and another outside. It will ensure that you keep maximum dust outside. Also, to clean them, you can vacuum the inside one, and air-dry the other.

  • Deep clean all the house windows. Make sure you don’t do it on the day when chances of rain or hail are there.

  • Organize your fridge and clean away all the dust which is outside. It will make your kitchen look fresher.

  • Take out everything from the kitchen cabinets, clean it thoroughly to remove all the dirt that sticks to the side. Then re-organize and get rid of things you don’t use.

  • To make your bathroom look fresh and new, clean the shower-curtain and shower as well. Most people don’t do this.

2. Hang motivational posters

If you have blank walls staring at you, which you are not liking, fill it up. You can add frames of your family and friends. You can also add a famous painting or local art. Another cheaper way is to use Canva to print out some posters. I am sure you have a favorite quote or line which inspires you, use Canva to create a poster out of it, and hang it on your wall.

Hang it at a place where you can see it so whenever you are down, you will feel a push to get back up.

3. Get plants

Plants are an amazing addition to your home. They are refreshing and can improve the air quality of your house. If you have a small balcony, it is great. But you should also invest in some indoor plants. They add greenery to your home and help you relax as well.

A palm tree adds drama and freshness to your room, go for it or any other plant you like.

4. Go with bare floors

A simple trick to freshen up your room or house is to remove certain things or add some things. In this case, you can do with no rugs for a while. They are a great addition to your kitchen or room and can keep the heat or cold away. But just for a few days, try removing them, and see how your house looks.

If you don’t have one, why not add one. Maybe it will bring new energy to your home.

5. Add more lights

Having lots of light can adds liveliness to a place. So, make sure that you keep the curtains open during the day to let the natural light in. If that is not possible, or for the night, ensure that you have tons of artificial light. You can have ceiling lights, chandeliers, or hanging lamps or table lamps, and so on.

If you have kids, try adding a star that glows at night on their room ceiling. Not only will it provide a source of light so the kids don’t feel afraid, but it also looks cool.

6. A textile shake-up

You don’t have to change the color of the room to make a difference. Small things can make big impacts as well. All you have to do is add a new pillow, or change the bedding style or add a curtain or so on.

No one likes monotony. While we want some things to never leave their designated place, a little change or adding a new portrait or so on can completely give a new look to your home.
