Buck Knives for Everyday Use

Buck Knives for Everyday Use

When I go hiking, I always carry my knife. When I go to work, I always carry my knife. When I go out, I always carry my knife. No matter what I do, I always have my folding knife on me. There are many times when I don’t use my pocket knife, but there are also times when it comes in handy. Now, my particular brand of knife is Buck. Buck Knife Blades come in a variety of sizes, but I prefer smaller, more discreet version myself.

When I’m at work, my knife proves useful when I need to open boxes or cut through tough plastic. It’s easy to use and equipped with a thumb stud for a quick open. It features a clip on the side allowing me to carry it clipped onto the waistband of my jeans for an easy, lightweight carry.

When I go out, I mainly carry my knife for protection. I’ve never had to use it for that specific reason; however, there have been times when I’ve needed to cut a loose a hanging thread or an itchy tag.

When I’m hiking, though, my handy-dandy pocket knife is like a best friend. You never know what you might come across while hiking and keeping a small knife tucked away on your person is always a good idea.

This past summer, for example, I was hiking through Yellowstone with a friend of mine. He had his bear spray strapped to the front of his backpack ready to grab and use whenever necessary. I, on the other hand, left my bear spray strapped far from reach, still tightly kept closed with a hard plastic zip-tie. Not a good place in case we came across a bear. Even less useful since it would be difficult trying to cut the plastic off before the bear charged us.

Now, I know, I know, the chances of a bear attack are slim. However, it’s always best to be prepared. Thankfully, I had my trusty knife tucked away, easily in reach. I whipped it out, opened it with the easy thumb stud, moved my bear spray to the front of my pack and cut off the plastic closure.
